Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and adaptable Travel Perfusionist to join our surgical team in Overland Park, Kansas. This role is ideal for a certified perfusionist with at least one year of clinical experience who is committed to delivering safe and high-quality cardiopulmonary support during cardiac surgeries. The position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced operating room environment while gaining valuable travel healthcare experience.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and manage heart-lung machines and cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) equipment during cardiac and complex surgical procedures.
Monitor patient hemodynamics and physiological parameters; adjust perfusion support as necessary to maintain patient stability.
Prepare, prime, maintain, and troubleshoot perfusion equipment and disposables.
Manage extracorporeal circulation, ECMO, and other perfusion modalities as required.
Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and OR staff to optimize patient outcomes.
Document perfusion procedures, equipment usage, and patient data accurately and thoroughly.
Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique, infection control, hospital safety protocols, and compliance initiatives.
Participate in preoperative and postoperative planning and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Perfusion Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Current Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) certification (ABCP or equivalent) or eligibility for licensure.
Minimum of 1 year of clinical perfusion experience, preferably in cardiac surgery.
Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and perfusion techniques, including CPB and ECMO.
Current BLS and ACLS certification required.
Excellent communication, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to adapt quickly to new hospital environments and perform effectively under high-pressure surgical conditions.
