Travel Position | Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) | Tomball, TX
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) to join a high-performing surgical team in Tomball, Texas. This role is ideal for a nurse who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care during complex cardiovascular procedures.
As a CVOR Travel RN, you will provide critical perioperative care and collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and the highest standards of safety and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients before, during, and after cardiovascular surgeries.
- Scrub and/or circulate in procedures including open-heart, vascular, and thoracic surgeries.
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields, surgical instruments, and operating room equipment.
- Assist in complex procedures by anticipating surgeon and team needs to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Monitor patient condition, vital signs, and respond promptly to intraoperative changes.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams to optimize outcomes.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care and procedures.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety standards, and hospital protocols.
- Educate patients and families on pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Support post-operative recovery and continuity of care.
Required Qualifications:
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas or Compact license preferred).
- Minimum 1 year of recent CVOR experience.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA preferred).
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures, sterile techniques, and instrumentation.
- Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
- Adaptability to new settings and travel assignments.
