Travel Position | Registered Nurse - Emergency Department | Asheville, NC
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department in Asheville, NC. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in emergency or acute care nursing and the ability to provide high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care to individuals presenting with urgent, acute, or emergent medical conditions.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, triage, and prioritize care according to clinical urgency.
- Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per hospital protocols and physician orders.
- Monitor patient conditions, recognize changes in status, and respond appropriately.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.
- Document patient care accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
- Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and emergency department protocols.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- 2+ years of Emergency Department, Critical Care, or Acute Care experience.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina (or compact license eligible).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while maintaining quality care.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education skills.
