Travel Position | Registered Nurse - NICU | Asheville, NC
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Travel Registered Nurse – NICU to join our healthcare team in Asheville, NC. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced NICU nurse who thrives on providing high-quality care to critically ill newborns while enjoying the flexibility and adventure of a travel nursing position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional nursing care to neonates in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
- Monitor and assess the condition of newborns, including vital signs, feeding, and developmental progress.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with neonatologists, physicians, and the multidisciplinary care team to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Educate and support families regarding their newborn’s condition, care needs, and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, safety guidelines, and infection control standards.
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina (or compact license eligible).
- 2+ years of NICU experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of neonatal care, equipment, and NICU protocols.
- BLS and NRP certification required; additional certifications (e.g., CCRN) a plus.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work as a travel nurse in a new healthcare setting.
