Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Travel RN to provide expert care in the Neuro/Neurosurgical ICU (NSICU), managing critically ill patients with neurological and neurosurgical conditions in a fast-paced ICU environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill NSICU patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  • Monitor and manage patients with acute neurological conditions, such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and post-neurosurgical care.
  • Administer medications, intravenous therapy, and specialized treatments as prescribed.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, multidisciplinary teams, and support staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Utilize advanced critical care equipment, including ventilators, ICP monitors, and hemodynamic monitoring devices.
  • Respond promptly to patient emergencies and participate in resuscitation efforts as needed.
  • Document patient care accurately and maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, and post-discharge care.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in North Carolina (or compact license).
  • Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, preferably with neuro or critical care patients.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification required; CNRN or CCRN preferred.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new clinical environments as a travel nurse.
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and the care team.
