Travel Position | Registered Nurse - PICU | Asheville, NC
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Travel Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team in Asheville, NC. This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse with 2+ years of PICU experience to provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric patients while enjoying the flexibility and adventure of travel nursing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care for critically ill children in the PICU, including monitoring, assessments, and interventions.
- Administer medications, IV fluids, and other treatments in accordance with hospital protocols and physician orders.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families about their child’s condition, treatment plan, and recovery process.
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all regulatory and hospital standards.
- Respond effectively to emergencies and participate in rapid response or code situations.
Qualifications:
- Current and unrestricted RN license in North Carolina (or compact license eligible).
- 2+ years of experience in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
- Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required; BLS required.
