Travel Position | Speech Language Pathologist (NICU) | Houston, TX
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Travel Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide specialized care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Houston, Texas. This role is ideal for clinicians with neonatal or pediatric experience who are passionate about supporting infants’ feeding, swallowing, and early communication development in a fast-paced, critical care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, evaluate, and treat neonates and infants with speech, language, feeding, and swallowing disorders in the NICU.
- Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans based on patient assessments and progress.
- Collaborate closely with neonatologists, nurses, occupational therapists, and other interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes.
- Provide education, training, and support to parents and caregivers on feeding techniques and developmental care strategies.
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of therapy sessions, patient progress, and compliance with hospital and clinical standards.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies, infection control protocols, and safety standards.
- Adapt quickly to new clinical environments as part of a travel assignment.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Active SLP license in Texas or eligibility for temporary licensure.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred or in progress.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience, preferably in NICU or pediatric settings.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Strong knowledge of neonatal feeding and swallowing disorders.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to thrive in dynamic hospital settings and adapt to travel assignments.
