DirectShifts is urgently looking for Psychologists across the state of CA 

Key Responsibilities:

Psychological Assessment & Diagnostic Formulation (30%)

  • Conduct Admission Psychological Assessments within 7 days.
  • Perform comprehensive diagnostic evaluations and suicide risk assessments.
  • Carry out intellectual, cognitive, and psychological assessments as required.
  • Develop and monitor behavioral interventions.

Treatment Team Duties (30%)

  • Develop treatment plans and participate in team conferences.
  • Attend daily shift change meetings to exchange patient information.
  • Ensure treatment plans address cultural and age-specific issues.

Delivery of Treatment Services (30%)

  • Provide group and individual therapy, crisis intervention, and psychotherapeutic services.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and other service providers.
  • Document all interventions and services provided to patients.

Professional Responsibilities (10%)

  • Develop and submit clinical supervision plans if acquiring a new privilege.
  • Provide clinical supervision to interns and unlicensed professionals as needed.
  • Attend department meetings and complete required continuing education.  

Supervision Exercised:

  • May provide training and supervision to interns and other staff members.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Understanding of psychological theories, human behavior, and treatment program development.
  • Ability to plan and conduct assessments, provide professional consultation, and teach others.

Required Competencies:

  • Infection control, safety, age-specific knowledge, therapeutic strategies, and privacy/security of health information.

License/Certification:

  • Must possess a valid psychologist license from the California Board of Psychology or an earned doctorate degree in psychology.

Working Conditions:

  • Standard work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a requirement to work 40 hours per week. Annual health reviews are mandatory.
