As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality diagnostic images to assist physicians in diagnosing medical conditions. This role involves patient interaction, technical proficiency, and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, ensuring accurate selection of exposure factors
- Administer contrast media and medications within the scope of practice and in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Monitor patients during procedures, observing for any abnormal reactions and reporting findings promptly
- Follow radiation safety procedures to minimize exposure to patients and staff
- Maintain equipment functionality, reporting any malfunctions to appropriate personnel
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized department, including procedure rooms and storage areas
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or technical degree preferred
- Certification as a Radiologic Technologist from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- CT Certified is a must and agreeable to performing minor labs and preferably starting IVs in our freestanding ER.
- Licensure as a Radiologic Technologist by the Texas Medical Board
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of hire
- Experience in diagnostic radiology preferred
